For me art is a navigational instrument and a healthgiving elixir.  I immerse myself in these conclusions:
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.”
Albert Einstein
I seek to be attuned to the mysterious.
Another quote from Einstein is:
“The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.”
Art to me is to uncover how to be in contact with that eternal child within.
In conclusion a quote from the illustrious Rumi:
“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”
This to me is the essence of art.  Locate the true beat of your heart and go after that!
